Scrummy @ Pringle SS11

Well hello there everyone, I am finally back to normality...although I have had some holiday blues, I am back and have been filtering through my 800+ emails I had when I got home and sieving through these has been a mammouth task, hence why I am so late with my posting, there's so many yummy things I have been sent in my email.

Firstly I was very exited to read a short article on ANOTHER.com from the designer at Pringle, Clare Weight Keller, in discussion about her Menswear S/S11 collection. Once I read the article I checked out good ol' style.com and saw the beautiful collection. In said article Clare spoke of playing with key pieces in a gentlemens wardrobe and talked about wanting to deconstruct the materials of these staple pieces to give them a yummy freshness, which looking at the collection, I think she has with gorgeous simplicity, the colour palette is stunning.

ANOTHER Magazine. Camilla Bidault-Waddington

I'm loving this recent photoshoot for ANOTHER Magazine online.

The styling and the photography was carried out by the model in the images, a regular ANOTHER Magazine contributor, Camille Bidault-Waddington. In the article accompanying the yummy imagery, it reads, the images are 'depicting the visually pleasing world of a young woman in a grandmother’s idiosyncratic Parisian apartment'.

The styling in the imagery is fairly simple, as is the photography but as Camilla states: "My approach to photography is the same as my approach to styling: it needs to be spontaneous, free, and strange,".

My favourite image? The second one down. The floral bed sheets and the curtain material contrasts just lovely with the simple colour palette of Camilla's skirt and sweater set.

Nine collective girls.

A simple but gorgeous shoot I came across a couple of days back, was one of the first I have encountered where the meaning of the images and the ideas for the styling have literally been written down on the magazine page: the narrative explained and the photographers ideas spoke of. The shoot was shot by Charles Freger and styled by Karen Langley.

'The starting point for this story was to find nine similar-looking girls, and dress them to create a collective.'

The short written piece also features Freger's trademarks for his portrait shots, these often focussing on 'the sartorial ties within military, student and sporting groups'. In the images you are really able to understand the choices for the whole image, the styling ideas from Langley and the location choice. Elements from both the photographer and the stylist compliment each other, making each image work well as a whole composition, particulary the colour palette in every image.

Another shoot from Another Magazine, (pardon the pun :) Anothermag is very popular in my world at the minute :S).

The photo shoot story, shot by Gerard Uferas, consists of gorgeous imagery, all black and white, taken behind the scenes at s/s10 collections. I love the angles that Uferas took the shots at and the way he has cropped the imagery really helps in creating the unpolished look and chaotic atmosphere that the backstage of a catwalk show has. Backstage is a place that truely showcases the collections. Lovely.

For girls who like to shop....

I came across some stunning photographs in an article in Another Magazine, based around the story of documenting shopkeepers' clothing. As the article points out, these are the people that work with clothes in their job, all day, so seeing what they wore was quite interesting. Their clothing shows us a glimpse of their character and it also highlights why they have been chosen by their employer to work at the specific store.

The shoot didn't have a specific title, but what it did have I thought was much better, it was a small written piece of what the photographs were about: '...portrait projects documenting the unsung heroes of the fashion industry'. The images are of London's shop assistants and the stores they work at range from Dover Street Market to Issey Miyake to a Brick lane Thrift store.
