I ate style.com...it took me forever SS11

Another round of fashion shows for another glorious season and in my favourite city ever: New York Fashion week has begun.

Today I lived with style.com to check out all the New York shows so far. Some of the collections have influences from fall/10, specifically when thinking about the colour palette for SS11 (which is heavily white so be prepared if you don't like the white stuff). The lady of the time for SS11 so far to me, seems like the 1970's woman, the woman we embraced for Fall/10 too, so this is great for our bank balances but for those who are not fans of the blow dried huge hair, the loose trousers and the fab spectacles this may not be too good...but I'm loving the new season! Which is fairly odd because as you guys may know, my favourite season is always Fall. The only downside I have for the new season is the shear amount of sheer fabric that's showing it's light, airy face on the runways.

Anywhoo...these are some of my favourite collections so far.

Adam:
-preppy look
-lace
-sheer fabrics
-neutral colour palette-camel, burnt tangerine (big colour for ss11)
-very wearable pieces

Alexander Wang
-light colours-WHITE
-reminded me of freshly washed linen
-construction theme juxtaposed with fabrics-models had white paint in hair, slashes of rose gold on garments supposed to resemble duct tape

Derek Lam
-relaxed colour palette-more retro
-'Shades of the seventies in some pieces'
-denim
-safari look-lots of khaki colours, rusted greens
-gladiator sandals

Donna Karan
-desert shades of tan, honey, saffron
-'Raw Romance'
-crumpled texture-undone, sensual quality
-the whole colour palette of the show is stunning

Jason Wu
-'Spring is more dangerous'
-ladylike feel
-loose trousers-in neutral shades
-gorgeous preppy long blazers
-blouses
-sheer fabrics

Marc Jacobs
-1970's
-lots of colour-neutrals with berry tones
-fabulous accessories

Preen
-clean colour palette-chalk, soft greys-dreamy pales
-apron idea seen throughout

Thakoon
-white is the new camel
-sheer fabrics
-feminine elegance

Victoria Beckham
-looser fitting shapes (some pieces but mostly Victoria's trademark body-con dresses)
-neutral palette tone with shots of ribena purple

You guys have any favourite collection?
