The Louis Vuitton catwalk show, held in Paris was quite different to that of Jacob's New York show where he showed a successfull return to basics.
Jacobs, along with some other designers this season, celebrated the curvacious lady: the Louis Vuitton show heavily focused on the ladylike look, and referenced the Mad Men style. Designs shown included; many A-line dresses, elbow length gloves (which I may need to research into more for my ladylike still life styling project), exaggerated wide skirts, cutaway outerwear and some softly structured evening gowns. The lady-like look for the fall 2010 collections is one that is key to a variety of designers. As we can see through the designs but also with the choice of models, embraced for their womanly figure.
